    This special weeklong safari can be taken from within Kenya and also on arrival from Europe, America etc
    Those arriving from Mombasa or from outside Kenya will be picked at Jomo Kenyatta International
    Airport. Those arriving from other towns such as Diani and Malindi will be picked up at Wilson
    airport.

    1. Nairobi airport – Samburu National reserve
    Drive from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve through some spectacular scenery across the
    central Kenya highlands. You will travel across lush green farmland and before getting to the savannah
    scrubland that characterises the area near Samburu. You will also be lucky to spot the snow capped
    peaks of Mt. Kenya which is Africa’s second highest at 5199m.

    Samburu Game Reserve is north of the equator in an area that is mainly grassland with some riverine
    forests and scrubland.

    A sizeable area of the park is semi arid which means that there is a lot of action at the water holes and
    rivers. We get to the lodge in time for lunch where we will refresh and take a deserved rest.
    We will thereafter take a game drive from 4 p.m to 6 p.m.

    This is an ideal time as the animals are moreactive at this hour due to a cooling down of the temperatures.
    During this drive, lions , bush bucks,leopards and elephants will be sighted.

    2. Samburu National reserve
    The second day will be dedicated to discovering and enjoying the sights of Samburu National
    Reserve. This park is situated further up north and home to animals you will not see in the other
    parks such as the reticulated giraffe, the beisa oryx, blue necked somali ostrich, kirk’s dik-dik and
    grevy’s zebra.

    Spend the whole morning and afternoon game drive at samburu spotting these animals and more
    such as: buffalo,gerenuk, grant’s gazelle, elephants, leopards, cheetahs , hippos , crocodile , water buck,
    impala among others. This park is also excellent for bird watchers with over 350 species seen here
    among them , somali ostrich, kingfisher, sunbird, bee-eater, marabou stork, tawny eagle, bateleur,
    guinea fowl and Vultures.

    3 Samburu – Nakuru national park

    A morning drive from Samburu to Lake Nakuru National park through the central Kenya highlands
    . The drive will take guests through the diverse Kenyan landscape including towns as high as 7900ft
    above sea level before plunging to the floor of the rift valley where to Lake Nakuru.

    The view as one descends down hill from an altitude of 8000 ft is spell binding. Lake Nakuru
    National Park is the premier bird watchers haven in Kenya and home to a third of the world’s
    population of flamingos. These birds are so many, that it seems as if a pink ribbon surrounds the
    lake from the highlands 40 km away.

    Expect to arrive at Nakuru Lionhill Lodge in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will follow
    and you will discover that this park is teeming with animals from every corner. The flamingos,
    pelicans and close 400 other bird species can be seen around the lake . Other big mammals that
    abound in the park include buffalo, balck rhino, white rhino, lion , leopard, hippo, the rare
    Rothschild Giraffe , waterbuck, eland, warthogs, reedbucks etc.

    4. Nakuru – Masai mara
    After breakfast, we drive to Maasai Mara for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge through Kenya’s
    savannah. The drive will take us through panoramic scenary across wheat and barley fields.
    Refreshed, we set out for the game drive of your life. After all, this is the masai mara. The setting
    of the world famous BBC Documentary “Big Cat Diary” and hundreds of other National
    Geographic films.

    The Mara offers an unbelievable variety and abundance of wildlife with over
    450 species of animals. Mara also has the highest concentration of lions in the world. Alongside
    the lions, you can expect to see rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo,
    warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopards, different types of antelopes and elephant.

    Afternoon game drive followed by dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

    5. Maasai Mara
    A spectacular whole day that will be dedicated to viewing the animals. This wildlife extravaganza
    will leave you spoilt at the sheer numbers of the animals in the park. If you are lucky, you may get
    to experience the annual wildebeest migtration. An event so momentous that it has been referred to
    as a wonder of the world. During this migration, millions of wildebeest (and zebras) migrate between
    Serengeti and Masai mara .

    There is a great spectacle when they cross the Mara river that is home to hundreds of nile crocodile.

    6. Maasai Mara – Nairobi
    We take off for Nairobi after breakfast to Kenya’s capital Nairobi. Lunch will be in Nairobi.
