Sunday, 3rd April, Diani Beach will play host to the 15th concert of the now popular Blankets and Wines gig. To get there, find your way to Forty thieves Beach Bar with a masai shuka/Blanket/ Kikoys/picnic chair; some wine, a picnic basket and your preferred company. Then proceed to share in this music and lifestyle experience.
This is the perfect Easter treat for Diani Beach residents and visitors. Wine is available at the forty thieves bar in case you don’t have a bottle to bring with you from from home. Alternatively, you can pick a bottle from Nakumatt who have a good selection of wines.
Blankets& Wine, held every first Sunday of the month is designed to showcase out standing musicians in the emerging genres of afro-based music, these include afro-soul, afro-fusion, afro-jazz, ethnic, and other genres.You will enjoy the cool breeze of Diani beach, dig you toes in the flour soft sand, mingle with an urbane crowd and sip some wine as the finest musicians entertain you.

She is a talented songwriter, poet and musician whose masterly of drums has earned her the title of DRUMMER QUEEN. Expect her blend of styles to wow you as she fuses taarab, rock,R&B that will leave you tapping your feet to her rhythms as she sings:Beneath me/ I see a deep green sea/whose water could be healing/a needed therapy/

Sauti sol
This band plays an eclectic mix of afrofusion&neo soul with soothing and heartwarming grooves. Expect a sweet mix of urban afro-sound on which Sauti Sol deliver outstanding vocals. Whenever Sauti Sol perform, they always steal the show with their mellow voices and their smooth guitar licks.Mzungu Kichaa
Mzungu Kichaa means “crazy white guy” in Swahili,but there is nothing crazy about this Danish born musician. He has mastered african music with a modern sound that infuses central african soukous,zouk and bongo flava. He will blow you away with his guitar and well rhymed swahili lyrics.This event cannot find a more beautiful setting than the Diani Beach. Forty thieves bar has a wide array of drinks and a good menu from which you can choose some bitings.
