Opening Soon – The Diani Beach Art Gallery

A new venture concerning the Arts has been brought to life in Diani Beach, Kenya.

Opening doors in September, the Diani Beach Art Gallery is located in the Diani Beach Shopping Centre (South Coast, Mombasa), situated in the very heart of one of Kenya’s best known tourist destinations with over 30 tourist resorts within a 10km radius.

The Gallery’s triple unit of airy and lofty space lends itself to the exhibition and support of painted art, sculptures and creative objects. Halogen spots have been fitted to ensure optimum lighting and preservation of the paintings, and Y-partitioning walls and free-standing display units allow for a generous display of art of all kind.

One of the owners commented: ‘While we’re looking to attract high quality artists from Kenya and Africa to keep the standard and quality of art to top level we also very much will be promoting up and coming artists. We are also not confined to one medium, indeed we’d like to keep the selection of art as versatile as possible as we are all of the opinion that this will add depth and breadth to the Gallery and will support our vision of interactivity.’

The vision is to create a space for artists, art lovers and patrons alike. Interactivity is the key and with regular happenings and events like art classes, wine and cheese evenings, special promotions, etc., the Gallery will be kept in the forefront of people’s minds while creating a meeting centre for everyone concerned with the Arts.

So why not stop in from September, and enjoy the atmosphere while discovering the story of every painting, sculpture and object, learn more about the artists or take part in a workshop to discover your artistic side.

This is a space for artists, art lovers and patrons alike!

This sounds great. I live in Nairobi and being an artist it can be very frustrating at times to get my work exhibited and I hope the gallery’s owner will also display artist who are less known.
I have a collection and wouldn’t mind exhibiting them anywhere on the globe. So, I will be waiting for September.

    Hi Emmanuel,

Thanks for your positive comments on the Gallery!

Part of our vision is to also help up and coming artists promote their work.

We do have some critera that we’d like to be met in order to support the most talented artists out there, but why don’t you just send me an email with some pictures of your artwork and a couple of lines about yourself?

I’ll definetely have a look and maybe we can talk about your participation in the Diani Beach Art Gallery.

    Best regards,

    Anina
