Microlight before take off

One of the reasons I love to see new places on a bike rather than a car is because it feels as if you could touch the things you see. You feel the wind,see everything from very close and enjoy the unobstructed views for atleast 180 degrees. However, this is not  about bikes.  It is about flying above Diani Beach and enjoying the great sights from a microlight. Helicopters and small aircrafts have generally been the choice for those who like to see things from high above. However, there is an alternative where you can fly like a bird- like an eagle over Diani Beach in an aircraft so light, it feels like you are just floating weightlessly through the air.

My friend recently had the chance to fly above Diani Beach he described the experience using many sperlatives. Don’t take my word though, theres a video where you join him as he flies above Diani Beach and enjoys the manys sights that you would never get to see unless you fly. The most facsinating for me is the view of Chale Island and the view of the corals. The water is sooo clear, you can see straight to the bottom from the air. How fascinating is that? Maybe it is down to the fact the the footage was from a HD camera, either way, the shots are very impressive.

There is also a shot of the pilots toes where he wiggles them a bit, I think in delight.

What is SoCoFAS

SoCoFAS is Non Governmental Organisation that is providing medical care for poor Diani Residents at their Dispensary found on the road heading up to Maweni Village from Diani Beach. SoCoFAS stands for South-Coast Flying Ambulance Service of Kenya which is the goal for this organisation. To run  a ‘Flying ambulance’ for South Coast Kenya from Diani Beach.
