What would cause vervet monkeys to wrestle each other like that? This starts as a 1 on 1 wrestling match and quickly turns into a 2 on 1 match with 2 small vervet monkey wrestling a larger opponent. This wrestling match takes place atop a round table in a hotel somewhere. Is amazing the things technology gives us access to.

Galu Beach is located further south of Diani Beach and is generally less developed and quieter.  See an amazing clip that captures the beautiful sunrise over the Indian ocean. It must have taken time to record the entire sunrise and that just shows how much people can be dedicated.

Kim4Love 9 day Festival

This 1minute 40 second video takes you through lots of shots from the KIM4LOVE Beach Festival. KIM4LOVE is a musician who performs and runs the KIM4Love fan-club that has set up base at the now defunct 2 Fishes hotel.The video is vibrant and catchy showing the people who turned up to see the performances by the local upcoming artistes while highlighting the work the Kim4Love is doing to help keep the youth gainfully engaged in music.

A little more about Forest Dream Cottages
Forest Dream is a luxury resort set in a tropical forest garden, walking distance from the ocean. We are situated opposite the Baobab Hotel off the Diana Beach road, about 3km from the main Diani Shopping Centre.  Six accommodation complexes are scattered throughout the resort.  Each complex has an inside/outside lounge created in a relaxing Swahili style.  Guests can enjoy the centrally located swimming pool with diving board, slide, underwater massage jets and pool bar.

KINONDO KWETU

Kinondo Kwetu is a luxury resort on the expansive white sands of the Galu beach at the Kenyan South coast a ten minute drive from the famous Diani Beach.

The Resort is surrounded by sacred land and forests called the Kaya, associated with the Mijikenda people. With the exclusive access to the white undisturbed sandy beaches, guests are treated to the very best in hospitality.

Kinondo Kwetu comprises of cottages, a beach house and villas. You can book either of these facilities;

1. Mbuyu – consists of a double bedroom and a connecting bedroom both sharing a bathroom.
2. Ubani beach house- a double storey cottage with an en-suite double bedroom upstairs while downstairs they have a single bedroom and double bedroom with connecting doors. You can book the entire house or choose to stay in either the upstairs section or downstairs.
3. Shimba, Songoro and Twiga cottages – en-suite cottages with King sized beds and en-suite bathrooms.
4. Mama Taa Villa – Comprises 6 suites three of which are upstairs and three downstairs. Four suites have en-suite bedrooms with doors connecting to a private sitting room while 2 suites are en-suite doubles.
5. Mama Tina Villa which accommodates children only with one en-suite double bedroom and 2 single rooms furnished with queen size beds and shared bathroom. Baby cots and extra beds are also available on request.

Meal times at Kinondo Kwetu are best adhered to and guests are advised to inform the management of any special dietary requirements before arrival. The menu is rich and diverse in international and local cuisine prepared meticulously by the world class chefs. All the guests get a free bottle of drinking water.

Leisure activities at Kinondo are numerous and engaging serving as the hallmark of your stay there among them; horse riding at the hotel’s own stables where experienced riders will guide novices and for experienced riders going on excursions in the nearby forests is a must.

World yoga masters come to Kinondo Kwetu to conduct lessons on these therapeutic exercises providing guests with the unique opportunity of learning from the experts. A wood fired sauna, two swimming pools, a tennis and exercise area are provisions to cater for a healthy rejuvenation.

For scuba diving enthusiasts Kinondo Kwetu has lessons for beginners and experienced divers.
Culture visits to the nearby Kinondo village are also arranged. Other leisure options for guests include snorkeling, sailing & canoeing, kite surfing, deep sea fishing, wind surfing& water skiing along Galu and Diani Beach. You can laze by the spotless and well maintained pools or take boat rides to paradise lost island or better yet go mountain biking.

The resort has three off-road vehicles that can ferry a total of twenty people suitable for game reserve tours.

GETTING THERE…
You can take the road by taking a ferry from Mombasa to Likoni then driving straight to Ukunda, turn onto Diani Beach road and straight on you will find Kinondo Kwetu.

You can land at the Ukunda airstrip which is ten minutes away by catching a flight from Moi International airport.

Communication at Kinondo is serviced by the two major mobile service providers in Kenya, Zain and Safaricom. At the hotel a laptop with wireless internet connection is accessible.
